Mr. Castanes joined the firm in 1995 with an extensive background in litigation. First, as an Assistant State's Attorney, where he spent the majority of his time in civil and criminal courtrooms. Thereafter, Mr. Castanes broadened his civil and trial experience as an Associate with Bresler, Brenner & Moltzen, working on behalf of injured plaintiffs and at times for various insurance companies.
As Trial Counsel at AIG Insurance, he defended substantial automobile, product liability, construction and premises cases. Mr. Castanes' experience also includes insurance coverage litigation and appellate practice. His professional experience having worked on behalf of both injured plaintiffs and various insurance companies gives him a unique perspective and insight in resolving claims.
Mr. Castanes is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and served on the Chicago Bar Association’s Tort and Judicial Evaluation Committee. He is the 1996 recipient of the Chicago Bar Association's William White Award of Excellence for his outstanding service to the Judicial Evaluation Committee.
